The decision to introduce tolls on the A22, known as the Algarve’s Via Do Infante, has been suspended as of Wednesday, April 6^th.

The unpopular measure of introducing tolls on the A22 as well as other SCUT roads has been suspended as it would be introduced by a temporary government which would make it an unconstitutional decision.

The roads will remain toll free at least till the 5^th of June, the date of the General Election for a new government.
